Pad Repair

Pad repair is an essential process in PCB maintenance, allowing a damaged board to be restored and reused. It requires precision, as poor repairs can result in continued electrical failures or a total loss of functionality.

  1. Maintain Electrical Connectivity: If a pad is damaged or missing, it can prevent the component from making proper electrical contact with the PCB, which can lead to circuit failure.
  2. Restore Functionality: A damaged pad often results in a malfunctioning or non- functional device. Repairing the pad restores the device’s functionality.
  3. Prevent Further Damage: A damaged pad can lead to further issues, such as broken traces or other components being damaged by poor connections. Repairing the pad prevents additional issues in the circuit.
